Strength Personified:
Daring widow takes stand for the sake of her son
Mrs. Ghazala, 32 has been living a very tough and appalling life since 2003 along with her small kid named Muhammad Abdullah, after her husband departed this mortal and transitory world and left her in the lurch.
She has neither home of her own to live in nor any source of income to support herself and the child, who (Muhammad Abdullah) studies in 4th standard. She is a graduate yet jobless.
She has started a small organization named “Alnoor Al-Khidmat Trust Foundation” of vocational training with the aim to support her, when her husband died after 4 months of her wedding. She gave birth to a posthumous child and then started thinking of doing something for her son to save his life in future.
She teaches different courses like cutting and tailoring, embroidery, painting, pot decoration and dress designing while the fees for all these courses per month is only Rs 50 which is very low as compared to the fee being charged I the market.
She said while talking to this agency, “I have taken this stand of launching a Trust for the sake of my life and I can also feel the miseries of other bereaved because I myself is suffering and passing through the same crisis.”
“No body could ever help me since the time I became widow and only my bothers helped me somehow because they themselves are daily-wagers. I tried to approach various people but to no avail. Not any philanthropic person, City Nazim, and not even the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) offered a helping hand. I live with my brothers who help me to some extent but for how long they will help me because they themselves have their wives and children?”
She said that she gives training to orphans, bereaved and widows. She freely trains the poor and widowed while charges from others Rs 50 per month which is a great help from her side to the poor people and she is also one of them as well and feels the pain in being helpless and poor”.
