Spits Fire at Malik, Altaf;

Woes to sacrifice property, life for peace in Karachi

In a mood that is unprecedented in the known political history of Pakistan, Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza spitted fire in a press conference at Karachi Press Cub on Sunday announcing his resignation from the post of senior provincial minister and an elected member of Sindh assembly saying ‘it’s never too late’.

The display of fireworks started with an oath on the holy Quran to testify the truth of his statements, Mirza severely criticized Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik   swearing that he is a ‘liar to the core’ and a ‘real threat to the sovereignty of the state of Pakistan’. Mirza went on quoting examples of Rehman Malik taking u-turns on many occasions alleging that he is ‘hand in glove’ with the terrorists.

The gun-fire later shifted to Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Mirza was a doubly-recharged battery of artillery attack. He quoted how Governor Sindh shifted back the target killers belonging to MQM nearly 20 in number as soon as he assumed charge that have been shifted from Karachi to different jails in Larkana, Nawabshah etc.

Dr. Zulfiqar also alleged that MQM got Wali Khan Babar (Geo Reporter killed in Karachi) murdered as Joint Investigation Report (JIR) has proved that all five killers were no other than terrorists belonging to MQM. Mirza also showed the copy of JIR to the media persons present and read aloud the names of killers.

Then Mirza claimed that he had a documentary proof that MQM chief Altaf Hussain wrote a letter in 2001 to the then Premier of Britain, Tony Blair stating that MQM can hold massive public gatherings to get the demands fulfilled in case Britain extends cooperation.

Adding insult to the injury, Mirza went on to say that: “MQM leader Altaf Hussain told me that United States of America (USA) has decided that Pakistan should ‘cease to exist’ now and he is ready to cooperate with USA and that MQM is ‘bent upon Killing the Pakhtun people’. Dr. Mirza claimed that he is having with him the documentary evidence of each and every allegation hurled at MQM and Rehman Malik in the press conference and wanted to show the evidence to Army Chief and DG ISI.

Answering a question, Mirza affirmed to present himself in the Apex Court with all documentary proofs in case the honourable court summons him. “The confidence and charisma in Zulfiqar Mirza was undoubtedly a reflection of the oration of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto,” a PPP worker told INFN requesting not to be named.

Mirza however, did not criticise Asif Ali Zardari and his party at all rather he promised to be loyal to his party even after his death requesting his heirs ‘to burry him wrapped in PPP flag’.
