At least 6 people were killed including 3 policemen and as many as 17 were injured at Battagram after an explosion on Monday morning.

According to details a bomb exploded at Battagram where a public meeting of PML (Q) had been scheduled. PML (Q) leader Ameer Muqam was to address this meeting. The suicide attack happened minutes before his arrival at the place.

“The government of ANP has completely failed to maintain peace in the province. It was an act of cowardice and nobody can stop me from helping my people,” Ameer Muqam said in a post-attack statement.

He further demanded that there should be thorough investigation of the incident and the culprits should be treated with iron hands. He said that his next programs will be according to schedule.

After the attack the police and law enforcement agencies reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
