Heavy Rain Washes Heat Away;

Residents Relieved, Rejuvenated, Refreshed to the core

First shower of the second spell of monsoon proved to be a great relief for the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad as the dry spell was thoroughly knocked down by the heavy downpour that dampened the soil to the core and washed away all traces of heat wave that had been ruling supreme in the twin cities for the last week or so.

Faces of the residents on the morning of Thursday were embellished with a refreshing smile after hours of rain that continued till late in the morning. The scenic beauty of Islamabad was multiplied manifold as the flowers, buds and tress were cleared of dust and the mountains presented a revitalizing look. A large number of people visited the Margalla Hills as they planned trips and keep pouring in to Islamabad Zoo, Damn-e-Koh, Pir Suhawa as well as the Rawal Lake.

The rain made the streets of twin cities appear like brooks and canals and the splashing sounds reigned supreme. The recent spell of monsoon is expected to continue for another day or two and the people of twin cities who missed the early morning rain of Thursday will surely get more chances to enjoy taking a bath in the revitalizing shower.
