Mortar hits a house in KA; Kills 03, Injures 01

In the ongoing military operation, at least three people were killed and one wounded Tuesday when a mortar fired allegedly by militants struck a house in Pewar Tangi area of upper Kurram Agency (KA), sources have said. It further reported that a portion of the house was partially damaged. Meanwhile, members of the Fazal Saeed group torched four houses of militants in Manto area of Central Kurram Agency, sources added.

Military operation in Kurram Agency has been launched Monday (July 4) to clear the area of the terrorists involved in all kinds of terrorist-activities including kidnapping, killing of local people, suicide attacks, blocking of road connecting lower Kurram with upper Kurram.

According to Director General ISPR, the operation has been launched on the rising demand of local elders. Security forces foiled two roadside bombs in Landi Kotal, Tehsil of Khyber Agency (KA), security sources said.

It further said that forces also defused an already dig roadside mine near the Khasa Dar check-post in Khoga Khiel area of Landi Kotal. Another bomb planted near a private school located on by-pass was discovered and defused by forces, security sources added.
