Launching ceremony of book

ISLAMABAD, July 04, 2010: (INFN) Launching ceremony of Khadija Khan’s debut novel “The mind of Q” held here Saturday, late night.

The ceremony was attended by her family members and friends. Famous poetess, writer and critic of Urdu literature, Kishwar Naheed was the guest of honor on the occasion.

In her address, she bracketed young Khadija with Kamila Shamsi and Fatima Bhutto but with a different style. She termed this novel as a novelette or a diary in which accounts of events are given chronologically.

Later on Khadija thanked several people for their contribution during the phase of writing and publishing this novel which took her four years. She said,’ writing your pain on a piece of paper is the second factor that heals your wounds other than ‘time’.

Earlier, her teacher, Mrs. Shama Nawaz terming her as an asset said that writing style of Khadija resembles with that of Virginia Wolf. She said that unlike most of the debut novels, Khadija’s novel is not a mere autobiography.

In the end few extracts from her novel were also read by the host and organizer of the ceremony, Ms. Shahana.
