Inter-provincial gang of bandits caught red-handed

 

Police have arrested 10 members of inter-provincial gang of dacoits reportedly involved in different cases of looting people in the broad day light.

 

DPO Office Attock says this in a handout released to the media. According to details carved out in a press release those arrested include Matloob Khan, Shoukat Hussain, Farrukh Sukltan, A.Raheem, Riaz Khan, Jameel Akhtar, Muazam Khan, Asif Iqbal and Najeeb Khan. Seven of the arrested alleged dacoits belonged to Attock while three hailed from Mardan and Haripur.

 

During the initial investigation the alleged dacoits have confessed their involvement in 8 cases of dacoity. As per the details, they have snatched Rs 20 thousand and gold ornaments from the owners of a house at Dhok Dera. In a similar attempt they snatched cash, 12 - Calibre shot-gun and gold ornaments from the house of Zia Muhammad in village Mithial.

 

Yet in another attempt snatched a Hiace and sold it in tribal area. They also have fastened the driver and conductor of an oil tanker and sold all the oil. In the last attempt of dacoity they were arrested by police when at night the inmates of the house woke up and informed police.

 

The timely action of Tehsil police in arresting those dacoits has been appreciated by the residents of Attock and they heaved a sigh of relief on the arrest.
