Rising Risk to Security:
Rangers Headquarters being shifted outside Karachi
The Federal Government is reported to have been contemplating to shift Rangers Headquarters from its current location at Jinnah Camp to a new place outside Karachi along Super Highway.
The interior Ministry and relevant departments are reported to have done some of basic homework however; they are awaiting a green signal and approval from the Prime Minister.
Sources in the Interior Ministry said the decision was necessitated because of the growing security concerns arising from frequent protests being staged outside the rangers Headquarters.
It is pertinent to mention that Jinnah Camp is within the Red Security Zone having the Chief Minister and Governor House located near it.
These protests were creating a grave security concern which has acted as a reason behind the shifting being on cards. The office of Interior Ministry has been reported to be shifted to the Jinnah House once Rangers check out of it.
