Employees of Daily Jinnah Sacked for Demanding Salary;

Plan a Sit-in and Protest in front of Malik’s House

The sacked employees of Daily Jinnah, Islamabad announced to stage a protest against the unethical termination from service in front of the house of Malik Riaz, Chief Editor Daily Jinnah at 6 pm on Monday Evening.

According to the details received by INFN, Khushnood Ali Khan, the Editor of Jinnah has allegedly terminated the services of some journalists when they demanded the salary of two months that was due.

The sacked employees contacted the RIUJ for intervention and resolution of the problem, however, it was told to them that the office bearers of RIUJ are having a busy schedule and are not available. On this, the sacked employees announced to gather in front of the Chief Editor’s house and to have a sit-in besides protesting against the allegedly exploitative attitude of the Editor.

When INFN contacted Masood Asim, one of the protesters, he informed that the protest has been postponed due to timely intervention of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the negotiations are being held.

It is a pity that in our country where people consider media-men as their liberators from exploitation are being exploited by the fellow journalists themselves.
