Traders claim compensation for G-9 fire incident

ISLAMABAD July 21, 2010: Trade Union of G-9 Markaz has put forward its demand asking for compensation for their losses in the fire incident that took place a couple of days ago which affected their business on a large scale.
 
These demands were presented in a press conference here in Islamabad Press Club, addressed by the leaders of the Trade Union. They also warned the government of a strike on 27th July if their demands were not accepted.
 
The traders demanded of the government to pay two million rupees each to the relatives of the deceased persons and to announce free education for their children. They also demanded of providing jobs to the relatives of the deceased persons in Sui Northern Gas (SNG).
 
Traders further demanded of the authorities to give one million rupees to the persons injured in the incident. Besides it injured persons should be provided with free medical treatment. Trade Union claimed a damage of about 250 million in the incident.
 
The union also demanded action against the officials, whose criminal negligence resulted in the unfortunate incident, saying they have nominated the ‘culprits’ in the FIR.
