Oath taking ceremony held

RAWALPINDI, OCT 29, 2010: Director Federal Government Educational Institution (Cantt / Garrison) Brig Raheeel Ashraf, as a chief guest, took oath on Thursday from the newly elected members of the student council of Federal Government College for Women Kashmir Road Rawalpindi Cantt.
The college administration organized two major events -installation of student council and annual exhibition 2010- of the college calendar.
Addressing to the oath-taking ceremony of student council, the chief guest said “Education is a process of learning that is not restricted to the text books only; it is a holistic process that inculcates the skills of critical analysis, problem solving, moral reasoning and ethics”
Principal Ms. Nasreen Mirza urged the student council to set an example of discipline and good behavior. She said “life is not a brief candle, it is a sort of splendid torch, get hold of it and make it burn as brightly as possible before handling it on to the next generation”
In the annual exhibition 2010, Department of Fine Arts highlighted the projects of students in the category of designing, drawing, calligraphy and portraits. The students’ work included tiles, textiles, cards, posters, abstract points, fabric paintings and applied designs on cloths.
