Car lifter held, 3 cars recovered

ISLAMABAD, OCT 26 2010: National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) on Thursday arrested one culprit and also recovered three stolen vehicles from different areas, said a motorway police official.

According to detail, Motorway Police was informed by a tracker company that a Silver colour GLI car number QA-327 model 2010 has been stolen from Aabpara Islamabad and now it was crossing Sawabi area on M-1.

NH&MP alerted all patrolling vehicles on getting the tip off and stopped the car near the Sawabi toll plaza the said car which was signaled to stop. Ahsanullah, the driver of stolen car tried to escape but was arrested after exchange of fire by the commando squad.

In the second incident, the motorway police was informed by Rawalpindi Police that a white colour Mehran car number MA-7497 had been stolen from airport. The motor way police found the car parked in the area of Burhan.

In the third incident, the motorway police was informed by the Islamabad police that a silver colour GLI car number PY-373, model 2010 had been stolen from the jurisdiction of Shalimar Police Station.  The motorway police stopped the car in the speed violation but the drives tried to escape and hit the green belt. The driver succeeded to escape from the scene. The officers took the vehicle in their custody.

Later on, the motorway police handed over all the vehicles and arrested culprit to the local police in presence of the owners of the vehicles for further legal action and investigation.

The Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police Dr. Wasim Kausar appreciated the performance of the officers and announced cash reward with CC-I who took part in these incidents.
