Young women entrepreneurs Eid expo kicks off

We will promote, patronise new talent: Samina Fazil

Samina Fazil, President, Islamabad Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) on Thursday said that all resources would be used to empower young women entrepreneurs.

Women can play a very active role in economic revival of Pakistan if they are trusted and given proper opportunities, she said adding that delivery of national goals cannot be achieved unless growth of women is seriously focused.

Speaking after officially inaugurating 2-day Young Women Entrepreneurs Eid Expo at a local hotel, she said that such events provide chance to reflect on the role that women entrepreneurs play in the economy.

Samina said that women entrepreneurs in the informal sector which are largely invisible also need our attention.  Our chamber will provide all possible facilities to business women she promised.

Lauding the initiative of young women entrepreneurs, she said that such initiatives should be lauded by the business community and supported by the concerned government departments.

She said that strong skill development of women is the key to the economic well-being and such creative events are imperative for development of women entrepreneurs.

Samina observed that women are more focused on garments, fashion, jewellery and beauty salons ignoring many sectors that badly need their attention that include branding, advertising, e-marketing and start making personal, business and product profile to boost businesses.

She advised the organisers including Dr Laila Hassan and Mariya Mehsud to expand their relations and businesses with the help of such events. She said that women have the potential to get their skills in this challenging environment.

Business women showcased garments, leather goods, jewellery, handmade embroidery, dresses, decoration pieces, traditional pots, and bridal accessories in the expo.
