12th Pure Mathematics International Conference Starts
Senator Dr. Babar Awan, Former Federal Law Minister was speaking on the inaugural ceremony of three day 12th International Pure Mathematics conference held in Islamabad today in National Centre for Physics. Highlighting and emphasizing the importance of mathematics on day to day, national and international levels he recalled past years of his college life. He said that he was a student of mathematics during his graduation days and it was his favourite subject. He also conveyed the goodwill message of President of Pakistan to the organizers of the conference and assured on behalf of President of Pakistan with all possible help and facilities for education in Pakistan.
Prior to that Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayyum Yaseen Zai, The Vice Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University addressing the audience brought to light the salient features of internationally known Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad. He pointed out the high valued research activities of QAU. He highly appreciated Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq for promoting mathematical activities and holding such a wonderful conference every year for the last eleven years.
At the beginning of the Inaugural Ceremony Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, President of Pakistan Mathematical society, Dean Faculty of Natural sciences QAU and convener of the conference talked about the historical background and series of struggle, obstacles, efforts and financial hardships and efforts to bring the international conference to the present level that is the conference is now a world known activity.
He welcomed all the speakers, audience and participant of the conference. He thanked all the honourable guests in particular the chief guest Senator Dr. Babar Awan for sparing the time and gracing the occasion with his presence.
The 12th Pure Mathematics International conference will continue for 3 days via, 29th, 30th and 31st of July 2011. During different sessions about 60 speakers will present their research papers involving the latest researches in various fields of mathematics. The young scholars and researchers will be highly benefited from the conference. A large number of scholars from all over the country are participating in the conference.
