The First-Ever Woman FM Soon

Hina Rabbani Khar is reportedly going to be new Foreign Minister (FM) of Pakistan as Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has approved a summary to elevate Hina Rabbani as foreign minister.

This decision has reportedly been made particularly in the wake of upcoming Pakistan-India dialogue which is scheduled to happen at the end of this month in New Delhi.

PM has also sent the summary to the President for appointing Hina Rabbani as a new foreign Minister. If the President accepts this advice – which is very likely to happen - she will become the first-ever Foreign Minister of Pakistan. Foreign Minister’s position had been lying vacant since Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s resignation on Raymond Davis issue.

The 34-year Hina comes from a political family from Punjab and is presently a member of National Assembly from the ruling Pakistan People Party (PPP). Hina Rabbani Khar is serving as the State Minister for Foreign Affairs these days.

Hina has a postgraduate degree in Hospitality Management from University of Massachusetts and owns a popular restaurant in Lahore. She entered polities in 2002 and had been on key position in Musharaf regime too.
