Bus Blast Burns 15 alive, injures several

A blast in a bus at   Islamabad Highway near Benazir International Airport killed at least 15 passengers including women and critically injured several while the bus was completely burnt down.

As per details a passenger bus was on its way from Faizabad to Kallar Syedan on Tuesday when the unfortunate incident took place near Loi Bher stop. There were more than 30 people travelling in the bus when it blew up after a horrifying blast.

According to an eye witness, “Four to six people died on the spot and others were severely injured. The bus was completely burnt down with the fire that followed the blast. The fire was so fierce that no one got a chance to escape out of the bus. Most of the passengers who died were burnt alive.”

Rescue 1122 and the local police reached the spot soon after the incident and started shifting the injured to the hospital. The police cordoned off the area, however, after some time one way traffic was restored.

Initially it was considered a cylinder explosion but when the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) reached on the spot and tried to determine the nature of the blast, this possibility was denied by them soon.

There was no official confirmation regarding the real reason of the blast till the filing of this news and there is a great probability of the bomb being planted within the vehicle.
